Obituary of Parker Irving

Edward “Parker" Irving, 61, of Hopewell, formerly of Mt. Thom, passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2016, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in New Glasgow he was a son of the late Burns and Vida (Gwinn) Irving. Parker worked many trades over the years and enjoyed woodworking, especially in carpentry with his son. Parker enjoyed a simple life, always humming and whistling a tune. His greatest enjoyment was being with his family and friends. He will be dearly missed by his sons Steven ( Tracy Johnson), Westville; and Roger, Hopewell; stepsons, David McGee, Eureka; Karl McGee (Crystal Munro), Westville; his 3 grandchildren: Michaela, Fox, and Ace; sisters Lynn Fenton (Art), Plymouth; Carol Hughes, Stellarton; Connie Morris ( Al) Westville; Elizabeth Dietze (Clint), Edmonton; Afton Hart (Len), Edmonton; Shannon MacLellan, New Glasgow; and brother Burnie Mt. Thom; several nieces and nephews and by special friend Joy Gower. He was predeceased by his parents, sister Fern and brother Fred. Parker rested at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville with visiting on Thursday . His funeral service was held at 1 o’clock Friday January 29 at Eagles Funeral Chapel, Westville with Rev. Bruce Morrison officiating. Spring burial will be in Brookside Cemetery. Family flowers only. A limb has fallen from the family tree. I keep hearing a voice that says, "Grieve not for me. Remember the best times, the laughter, the song. The good life I lived while I was strong.
