Obituary of Nita Porter
Nita Mae (Clark) Porter, 93, Green Hill, passed away peacefully Friday, Feb 5, 2016, in Ivey’s Terrace Nursing Home, Trenton, NS. Born May 17, 1922, in Central West River, she was the daughter of the late Aubrey and Georgie (Grant) Clark.
Nita attended the one-room schoolhouse in Central West River, graduated from New Glasgow High School, then joined the Evening News staff as a linotype operator. In 1943, she married James Ross Porter and lived in their farmhouse on Green Hill for 67 years.
