Obituary of Jim Marshall
James W. “Jim” Marshall, 67 of Stellarton formerly of Hazel Glen, passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2016 in the Halifax Infirmary with his wife at his side.
Born in New Glasgow on June 9, 1949, he was a son of Henry and Helen (MacLaren) Marshall.
Jim was an active member of the Kiwanis Club in Charlottetown for many years, holding all offices including President and Vice President and was Lieutenant Governor of the Eastern District 2001-12 and is presently Coordinator of Key Leaders. He worked at the Guardian News in Charlottetown until retirement.
Jim will be dearly missed by his wife of 31 years, Susan (MacLeod); son Andrew (Samantha), Amherst; daughters, Tarhen at home; Stephanie Barrett (Christian), Stellarton; and grand children Hannah and Cameron. He is also survived by sisters, Nancy Jones (Gerald), Judy (Dale) Migel, all of Hazel Glen; mother-in-law Dolina MacLeod, New Glasgow and nieces, Kristina and Nicole Jones,.
Jim rested at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville with visiting on Friday March 18. His funeral was held 11 am Saturday March 19 at Eagles Funeral Chapel Westville with the Rev. Doug Pilsworth officiating. Burial will be in Abercrombie Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pictou County Autism Society
