Obituary of Buddy Corbett
D. Matthew “Buddy” Corbett, age 75, Middle River, formerly of Stellarton and Westville, passed away on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow with his family at his side.
Born in New Glasgow on November 5, 1940, he was a son of the late Matthew and Helen (Baillie) Corbett of Westville.
He enjoyed the outdoors and was a lover of nature, especially enjoying playing with his dogs. A quiet reserved man, Buddy worked at Scott Paper and Kimberley Clark for 37 years until retirement.
A loving husband, father, and grandfather, he will be dearly missed by his wife Ellen (Clyburne); sons and daughters, James “Jimmy” (Andrea), Ottawa; Ann Pellerine (Malcolm), Priestville; Heidi Callahan (David), Fort St. John, BC; Melodie MacDonald (Billy), Trenton; Reggie (Shandra), Kentucky; grandchildren, Cpl. Zachary Wilson (Jenny), Margaret ‘Maggie” Wilson (Chris Pye), Nicholas Bushulak, Christopher Bushulak, Daniel Tulk, Hunter MacDonald, Skyla Corbett; great-grandchildren, Riel Oickle and Gemma Wilson. He is also survived brother James Corbett (Elaine), Halifax; sister Marie Cameron (Donald), Riverton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a sister Betty Bourque; brothers Reggie Breault, Johnny Corbett and Robert Breault.
There were no visitations or funeral service by request. A family grave side service was held on Saturday, April 23, at Gray Road Cemetery. Donations in his memory may be made to the Aberdeen Palliative Care Society or the Myeloma Society of Canada.
