Obituary of Donald Cameron
Donald MacLean Cameron age 84 of Riverton passed away August 8, 2016 at The Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in Union Centre, he was the son of the late Albert and Lucy (MacDonald) Cameron.
During his lifetime Donald worked a variety of jobs but road construction was his job of choice. His first business was SMC Sand and Gravel with Albert Marshall as his partner. He then built and ran the Riverton Mobile Home Park and Cameron’s Variety also located in Riverton. He was always there to help his children with any of their self employment endeavors.
He was a great fan of The Blue Jays and a loyal member of the Progressive Conservative Party.
He is survived by his wife Marie of sixty years, son Donald (Bonnie), son Dale, daughter Cathy (Wade Salter). Grand children Brent (Leann), Tiffanie, Spencer and Steven. Great grand children Alana and Gavin. Also surviving are his two sisters Dorothy Jardine and Evelyn Millen and sister in-law Wilma Cameron and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents Donald was predeceased by his four brothers Sammy, Willard, Ernie and Jim.
At Donald’s request there will be no visitation or funeral. A gathering took place at Haven Brook Lounge on August 13 . Donations may be made in Donald’s name to the I.W.K or the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia.
