Obituary of Gordon MacKenzie

It is with broken hearts, the family announces the death of Gordon Clarence “Tap” MacKenzie of Sundridge, formerly of Westville, who passed away on Saturday evening, August 13, 2016, at his home. Born in Westville, he was a son of Jean (MacGillivray) MacKenzie, Westville an the late Clarence MacKenzie. Gordie , “Tap” grew up in Westville. A welder by trade, Tap, worked at Maritime Steel for over 40 years. He enjoyed walking his dog Bently. A devoted husband, father, and grand-father, his greatest love was his family, enjoying going to the children’s sports and concerts. He will be sadly and dearly missed by his wife Helen (Fraser); daughter Cathy Bowron (Angus), Sylvester; sons, Tim Lloyd (Lori), B.C.; Tommy Lloyd Jr. (Lillian), Westville; grandchildren, Lacey, Laura, Lexie, Emily; Ashley, Thomas and Tiffany; great-grandchildren, MacKenzie, Gavin, Jourden, Brayden, Elaina and Ava; sisters, Sheila MacMillan, New Glasgow, Isabel Bonaparte (Louis), Sydney; Beverly Chennell (Gordon), Westville; brother and sister in law, Danny Fraser (Joyce), Westville; close long time friend Rollie MacKenzie, Westville; several nieces and nephews. Tap was predeceased by his sister Marilyn MacLeod; brothers in law Mike MacMillan and Hugh Fraser; and nephew Jay Fraser. A grave side service was held at Mill Brook Cemetery on Saturday, August 20 at 2 o'clock. Donations in his memory may be made to the Aberdeen Palliative Care Society or the V.O.N.
