Obituary of Joseph Green
Joseph H. Green, 57 of Westville passed away August 25th 2016, in the loving arms of his wife, Wanda after a hero's fight against Metastatic Renal Cell Carcinoma.
The last of thirteen children born to John and Loretta (Campbell) Green.
Joseph joined the Canadian Air Force to pursue his passion for flying & to get away from small town life. Retiring after serving 26 yrs in the Air Force, he worked for the Commissionaires before becoming the Curator for the Cold Lake Air Force Museum before settling back to Westville with his loving wife Wanda (Neff).
He loved entertaining and cooking for friends. Working assiduously for CHCL Community Radio as an on air personality, Joseph reached out to community everywhere he went. He and his wife were active members in the Stellarton N Area Lions Club. Possessed of an entrepreneurial spirit, Joseph had a talent for electronics, with a passion for adaptation; he loved to tinker and could think outside of the box. He enjoyed music passionately. He was a dynamic, affable, and adaptable man with an unending joie de vivre, and he will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda (Neff), his daughter Rae (Marc), his brothers; John (Rose), Bernard (Diane), his sister Anne Kontuk, many well loved nieces, nephews, and 4 grand-children (Lily, Rose, Gryphon, Loretta).
He was predeceased by his daughter Samantha, sisters, Margaret "Peggy", Florence and Loretta and brothers Leslie and Stephen.
Visiting for Joseph was held at Eagles Funeral Home Westville, on Sunday from 7-9pm. His funeral service was held at 1 o'clock Monday from Eagles Funeral Chapel, Westville, with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating. Burial was in the Holy Name Cemetery. Donations may be made in his memory to the Palliative Care of the Aberdeen Hospital.
