Obituary of Marc Savoie
It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Marc Savoie on December 14th, 2009, after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Born in Lower Neguac, N.B. on May 11th, 1939, he was the son of the late Joseph C. and Laura (Breau) Savoie. As a young man Marc served 2 years with the RCAF. He then embarked on a 33-year career with Canada Post, including postmaster in New Glasgow, retiring as area manager for Nova Scotia and P.E.I.
Marc loved the outdoors; he was an avid hunter and fisherman. Some of Marc’s fondest memories were of spending time with family and friends at Middle Lake in Guysborough County. He spent many summers following Blue Grass festivals throughout the Maritimes.

He will be dearly missed by his children Donna (Bob) Grant, New Glasgow, Michelle (Leigh) Morrison, Burnt Church, N.B., Susan Siri (Glen Carrigan), Halifax, and Nicole Peterson (Glen Boone), Westville. Marc was a wonderful Grampa to Jamie and Scott Grant; Allison, Katie, and Samantha Morrison; Sean and Katie Siri; Carl and Josh Peterson; and great-grandson Aden. He will be fondly remembered by numerous nieces and nephews.
