Obituary of Jean Elizabeth Cook

Mrs. Jean Elizabeth "Betty" Cook, 91, of MacLellan's Mountain, formerly of Springville, passed away on Sunday, Sept 4, 2016 in Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow. Born on July 4, 1925 in Westville, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Jenny (Mason) MacKay. A mother of six, Betty was a homemaker who loved to care for her many different pets over the years. She enjoyed baking, doing a variety of crafts and caring for her many house plants. Betty will be dearly missed by her children: Dorothy Graham - Truro, Fred (Marie) Cook - MacLellan's Mountain, Florence Cook - Toronto, Elizabeth Cook - Westville, Brenda Webber - Trenton, William "Billy" (Francine) -Quebec. and her fourteen grandchildren, several great grandchildren and her sister Helen Pitts - Westville. She was predeceased by her husband Richard "Dick" Cook, as well as her brothers Henry, Mason, Albert and Herbert MacKay. There was no visitation as per her request. Her funeral service took place on Thursday, Sept 8, at 2 o'clock at Eagles Funeral Chapel, Westville. Burial was in Gairloch Cemetery.
