Obituary of Cora Dunn
The death of Cora Charlotte (Lowe) Dunn, age 94, of Green Hill, occurred on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 in Valley View Villa.
Born on September 27, 1922, in Tidnish, NS, she was a daughter of the late Wallace Corey Lowe and Frances Beatrice (Campbell) Lowe.
Cora is survived by her daughter Hazel Fraser; grandchildren, Sherri Strong (Ray), Mark Fraser (Kim); and great-grandchildren Spencer and Alexis Strong.
She was predeceased by her husband Reg; son Ritchie; sisters, Ruby, Georgia and Margaret; and son-in-law James Fraser.
Cora served in the Royal Canadian Airforce (W.D.) During W.W.II and was a member of the Stellarton Legion Branch #28.
A woman of great faith, Cora was an active member of the Green Hill-Alma United Church and sang in the choir for over 30 years. She also sang with the Westville Heritage Choral group.
She loved growing flowers and was a long time member of the New Glasgow Horticultural Society where she won recognition for her beautiful Gladioli.
Cora’s dream came true at Valley View Villa in December 2014 with a book launch of some of her poetry.

Mrs. Dunn rested at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville, with visiting on Wednesday. Her funeral service was held 11 a.m. Thursday October 6, from Eagles Funeral Chapel with Rev. Meredith Fraser officiating. Interment was in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens. Donations in Cora’s memory may be made to Green Hill-Alma United Church, Valley View Villa Recreational Dept. or a charity of one’s choice.
