Obituary of Mabel Marshall

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, Mabel Arlene Marshall, of Westville. Mabel passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, November 3, 2016, after a long courageous battle with cancer. Born on March 12, 1965 , she was the daughter of the late Henry and Isaline (Crosby) Hanson. She lived a simple life and loved to spend time surrounded by her grand children, family and friends, whether it be playing cards, bingo or grabbing a coffee and going for a drive. She was a very caring mother who loved her children and grand children dearly. Before becoming ill herself, she dedicated her time caring for her daughter Holly who recently passed away with cancer in November 2013. Mabel will be dearly missed by her sons, Allen Marshall, New Glasgow; Michael Marshall, Lyons Brook; daughters, Nicole Marshall (Dukas Davis), Abercrombie; and Jamie Marshall ,Westville; grand children Haillie Sarty, Anna and Mack Davis, and Chayce Fiander; sisters, Janet Taylor (Howard) London, Ont.; Romaine Humphreys(Gerald), Ilderton, Ont.; Darlene Pettipas (Charles), Westville; Debbie Dalton, Westville; brothers, Hughie Hanson (April), Wilmot, N.S.; Lloyd Hanson (Marilyn), New Glasgow, Donnie Hanson, Amherst; and husband Gilbert Marshall, Westville. She was predeceased by her daughter Holly; brothers, Raymond, Robert, Henry and infant brother Richard. There will be no visitations by her request. Her funeral service was held Sunday Nov. 6 at 2 p.m. from Eagles Funeral Chapel, Westville. Cremation will follow. Donations in Mabel’s memory may be made to the Aberdeen Palliative Care Society
