Obituary of Sandy Munro

Alexander Raymond "Sandy" Munro, 65, North Street, Westville, passed away suddenly on Monday, January 4, 2010 at his home. Born in Lovat, he was a son of the late Robert and Bessie (McCunn) Munro. Sandy owned and operated Munro’s Trucking and was a well known pulp truck driver. He liked stock car racing and previously played hockey in the Westville Gentlemen’s Hockey League where he sponsored teams for many years. Sandy had a very quiet and gentle way, enjoying his family, and close friends. He is survived by sisters, Catherine Dickey (Jack), Otterbrook; Marie Barylak Whitby, Ont.; Jean Marshall (Howard), Fox Brook; Marion Day (Merle), Westville; brothers, Raeburn (Ardele), Union Centre; Chester (Dorothy), Little Egypt; brother in law Jim Welch, Westville and several nieces and nephews. Sandy was predeceased by a sister, Barbara Welch and infant brother Robert and brother-in-law George Barylak. Visitations will be held on Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. His funeral service will be held 2 o’clock on Thursday from Eagles Funeral Chapel, Westville with Rev. Norman Marple officiating. Burial will be in Gairloch Cemetery
