Obituary of Charles CF MacLeod
Charles Frederick "C.F." MacLeod, age 91 years, Westville, passed away on Thursday, January 7, 2010 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in Westville, May 22, 1918, he was a son of the late Hugh and Sadie (Craig) MacLeod.
He was an overseas veteran of WWII, serving with the Pictou Highlanders and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. #35 Westville. He was a coal miner, and a member of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Westville. C.F. was an avid dart player and enjoyed baseball.
He will be sadly missed by his son Charles (Sandra), Westville; daughters, Vivian (Vaughn LeBlanc) and Darlene, both in Vancouver; Step-daughters, Frances MacPherson and Shirley Gouley; several other step-children; six grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his first wife the former Gertrude Fogarty and second wife Laura DeCoff; sister Mildred Wright; and brothers, Raymond, Bill, Allan, Elmer, and Doug; and infant sister Vivian.
Visitations will be held at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville on Saturday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.
Br. #35 Royal Canadian Legion will conduct a service 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. His funeral service will be held 2 o’clock Sunday from Eagles Funeral Chapel with Rev. Norman Marple officiating. Cremation will follow. Special thanks to care giver Jessie MacKenzie.
