Obituary of Sonny Munroe

Havelock Frederick "Sonny”Munroe, 70 of Stellarton, passed away on Saturday April 22, 2017 in the Halifax Infirmary with his loving family at his side. Born in Cole Harbour, Guysborough County, he was the son of the late Colin and Evelyn (Webber) Munroe. Sonny worked for several concrete companies as a truck driver for over 30 years. He was a big man with a big heart and gentle personality. After his retirement he enjoyed his family; especially his four granddaughters and beloved dog Cookie. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed going on weekend camping trips across Nova Scotia in the summer months. He loved playing a game of washer toss and telling a good joke. He was a kind man who would lend a hand to anyone in need. He welcomed people with a gentle smile and hardy laugh. Sonny will be dearly missed by his wife Loretta (Richard), recently celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary; daughter Chastity Foote (Shane), Alma; son Lauchie (Debbie), Greenhill; granddaughters Lane and Reese Foote; Evelyn and Aurora Munroe; nephew Fred (Bev) Cameron, Chance Harbour; and niece Monica (Doug) King, Chance Harbour. He was predeceased by his daughter Nacita, sister Betty Cameron and Brother Duncan Munroe. His family will received visitors on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. His funeral servicewas held at 11am Wednesday at Eagles Funeral Chapel, Westville. Cremation has taken place. Family flowers only. Donations can be made to the Diabetic Association
