Obituary of Vincent Fortune
Hugh “Vincent” Fortune, 77 years, Duff Street, Westville, passed away on Friday, July 7, 2017 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in New Glasgow, Vincent was a son of the late Angus and Flora (Wilmot) Fortune.
Vince was a cook by trade working at the Heather Motel for many years and later the Ship Hector Beverage Room. He enjoyed dancing, shooting pool, camping and fishing with family, playing dice, being a hockey dad and a practical joker. He was a member of the Church of The Holy Name, Westville.
Vince will be dearly missed by his daughter Roxanne Jardine (Donnie), Salt Springs; and sons Terry, Tim (Lenette), and Michael(Trish) all of Westville; grand children Joey Jardine (Jasmine), Nicole Jardine (Mark), Kaityln Jardine (Michael), Carolyn Jardine, Allison Fortune, Ashley Fortune (Wyatt); step grand children Tony Zazula, Kevin Diechman, Bradley Robson, Jillian Robson, and Alex MacPherson and eleven great grand children. He is also survived by sister Margaret Cowell; brother, Jim (Ann); and locally by in-laws , Kay Fortune; Brenda Fortune; Wilda Rorison (Erick Otterson); Deana Parker; Rae Watters(Sandra); Tom Watters; and Joan Watters.
He was predeceased by his wife Sandra (Watters); grand child Beth; sisters Mamie Graves, Lena Griffiths and infant sister Flora Bell and brothers, John, Daniel, Charles, Enoch and Leonard; father and mother in-law, Willard and Flossie Watters and locally by in-laws, Catherine Rae (Clarence), Clarence Watters, Scott Watters, Victor Rorison.

Vincent rested at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville with visiting on Tuesday, July 11. His funeral service was held 11 am Wednesday, July 12, from Eagles Funeral Chapel, Westville with Father Barrett Clair Johnson officiating. Burial was in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens.Family flowers only, donations may be made to the V.O.N. or a charity of you choice.
