Obituary of Gary Tonks

The Reverend Maj. Gary Tonks, New Glasgow passed away Saturday, July 8, 2017 surrounded by his family. Gary is survived by his wife Norma (MacCharles); his daughter Wanda, Riverton; his son Shaun, Calgary; his brother John (Sharon and children), Great Village; sister-in-law Patricia Workman, Antigonish and brother-in-law Morris MacCharles, Port Alberni, B.C. Gary was predeceased by his parents, Edwin and Gladys Tonks. Visitations were held both on Tuesday and Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church, Hopewell. The Masonic Lodge conducted a service on Tuesday at 6:30 at the Church in Hopewell. The Royal Canadian Naval Association, Admiral Murray Branch conducted a service on Wednesday at 6:30 at the Church in Hopewell. His funeral service was held Thursday, July 13, from St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, Westville.
