Obituary of George Wilson

The family of MWO George Wayne Wilson CD (Ret'd), beloved husband of Jennifer (Davies) of Westville, regret to announce his sudden passing on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. He was born in Stellarton, April 27, 1946 to the late George and Laurina (Rushton) Wilson of Stellarton. After George graduated from Stellarton High School he went on to have a rewarding 31 year career with the Canadian Air Force having Peace Keeping duties in the Golan Heights. George and family enjoyed postings to Ottawa, Ont, Cold Lake, Alta, Lahr, Germany (where they travelled all over Europe), Moncton, NB, Summerside, PEI, Halifax, NS, Oromocto, NB, retiring at the early age of 48 years with a career span of 1964-1995. Upon retirement, George chose a second career to drive Chartered Buses for his son-in-law at Mac Tours Inc. and Ambassatours of Halifax, NS. He was an avid outdoors man who enjoyed hunting, fishing, 4 wheeling, and spending time at Kevin’s Camp with family and friends. He had a passion for wood working that he inherited from his father. George is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 49 years Jennifer (Davies) and his 3 daughters, Laurie Richard (Michel), Westville, Linda Gallant (David), Richmond PEI, and Donna Meade (Keith), Truro; 2 step grandchildren, Christina and Jeffrey Meade; also 2 step great-grandchildren; cousin Larry Morrison (Susan); and Sheila (Fred Vienneau); mother-in-law Isabel Davies, Valley View Villa ; sisters-in-law Gwen Hines (Ron), and Marsha Davies; brother-in-law, Garry Davies (Sherri) and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he is predeceased by his father-in-law Bruce Davies; several aunts and uncles; and sister-in-law Sally Davies. We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Rivera, Dr. Hack, Dr. Joy, the V.O.N. girls Kathy Corruthers and Susan Jackson, and the 4th floor nursing staff at the Aberdeen Hospital. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or funeral at the request of the deceased. If so desired, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetic Assoc. or the Heart and Stroke Foundation. George will be dearly missed by all of us, but reunited with his loyal fur baby Buster.
