Obituary of Dorothy Porter

Dorothy Elizabeth Porter, 84 of College Street, Westville, passed away on Saturday July 22, 2017 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, with her family by her side. Born in Westville, she was a daughter of the late John and Lena (MacMillan) Wood. She will be dearly missed by daughters, Joanne Aikens (David), Trenton; Bonnie Porter, New Glasgow; and Cheryl Wallace (Robert), Pictou; grandchildren, Chris Allen (Brett Dean), Sylvester; Lindsey Allen, Westville; Coady and Gage Wallace, Pictou; great grand son Liam; step grand children Carolyn Burns (Corey) and Carlene Aikens, step great grand son Caellan Burns, all of Calgary; brother Jack Wood (Margarita), Stellarton and sister-in-law, Jessie Dorie (Charles), Pictou, and a dear friend to Dot and her chosen daughter, Dagmar Hubley, Westville. Dorothy was predeceased by her husband James and sister Joan Harrington (Stanley). Her family received visitors on Tuesday, July 25 at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. Her memorial service was held 2 o’clock Wednesday from Eagles Funeral Chapel, Westville . Burial was in Birch Hill Cemetery, Rocklin.
