Obituary of Agnes Campbell
Agnes Lorraine “Aggie” (Carrigan) Campbell 69, Lakeview formerly of Sydney passed away suddenly on Feb. 1/2010. Born in Westville, on Aug. 14, 1940 she was the middle child of the late Ranald “Dinny” and Viola (Garvin) Carrigan. She married Allan Campbell Jr. in 1964 and they resided and raised their family in Sydney, NS, St. Stephen NB and Antigonish NS.
Mom was blessed with the “gift of the gab”. Her smile could light up any room. She faced life’s hardships with a sense of humor and always wanted to make those around her feel better. She was the first on her feet in any crisis, often forgetting her own problems to be there for her family and friends. We have lost our “rock” but will cherish the many memories and all the things she taught us. You are at peace now and all your pain is gone. We know you will always be with us ; you are greatly loved.
Surviving are her husband Allan, daughters Paula Clark (Fall River NS), Catherine Campbell Wilson (Toronto ON), son-in-laws Scott Clark and Chris Wilson and the joy of Grammy’s life Sophie and William Clark. She also leaves behind her siblings Thelma Green , Dobie ON, Anna Kyle, New Glasgow , Barbara Marchant, Minot ND, Vernon Carrigan, Carl Carrigan and Theresa Carrigan, all of New Glasgow NS; special chosen sister Judy Surette of Sydney NS. Aunt Aggie loved all of her many nieces and nephews and had many dear friends wherever she lived.
Visitations will be held from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Friday at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. Her funeral service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. from the Church of the Holy Name, Westville with Father Evo DiPierro officiating. Cremation will follow. Donations in her memory may be made to the Canadian Arthritis Society or the Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Foundation. www.eaglesfuneralhome.ca “If I had a rose for every time I thought of you, I'd be picking roses for a lifetime.”
