Obituary of Sheldon MacCulloch

It is with sadness we announce the passing of Sheldon Newman MacCulloch of Mount Thom on Monday, November 20th, 2017. Born in 1934 in Rogers Hill, he was the son of Margaret (MacCulloch) and Wilfred MacRae. Sheldon worked for J&J Proudfoot in the poultry business for 22 years followed by 13 years at Home Hardware. He loved the outdoors, especially snowmobiling and spending time at the family camp with his son and friends. Upon retirement he enjoyed getting fire wood with his tractor and hiking in the woods. Sheldon loved all nature and animals, especially his dog Katie. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Sandra (Cameron); his son Glenn (Bonnie); and chosen siblings, Winnie, Diane, David “Sonny”, James, and Harry. He is also survived by first cousins Thelma, Marlene, Martha, Ruby and Lynn. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his parents-in-law Margaret and Milton Cameron; brother-in-law Murray; and aunts Sadie and Kathleen. Sheldon is resting at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville with visiting on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. His funeral will be held on Thursday at 2 p.m. from Eagles Funeral Chapel, Westville, with Rev. Mary Anne Grant officiating. Burial will be in Stillman Cemetery. Donations in his memory may be made to the Palliative Care Aberdeen Hospital, the V.O.N., or the S.P.C.A.
