Obituary of Mary Patterson
Mary Katherine Patterson, 81 of High St Estates, New Glasgow, formerly of Poole Ave, Stellarton, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2017 in Palliative Care at the Aberdeen Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Stellarton on April 11, 1936 to the late Warren and Florence (Cornett) Davidson.
She was a Past Grand Mistress of the Right Worshipful Grand Lodge of Nova Scotia, LOBA, member of Acadia Sisters # 609, LOBA, Westville, a charter member of Crystal Chapter #66, LOL, Eureka. Past President of the Rebekah Assembly of the Atlantic Provinces, member of Crystal Fountain #11, Westville, and a member of the former Southern Cross #3, Stellarton, Rebekah Lodges. A member of the former Murray Temple #4, Pythian Sisters.
On November 6th, 1958 she married James Robert (Bob) Patterson, he passed away on November 16th, 1999.
She is survived by daughters, Florence Phinney, Elizabeth Hughes, Doreen (Charles) Gratto, Heather (James) Langille, Roberta Patterson (Jason Gerrior), grandchildren Terri Hughes (Gerry Reine), Jennifer Phinney, Katherine Hughes, Amy Langille (Ryan Francois), Amanda Langille (Jimmy Stewart), Jennet Gratto, Krista Patterson (Ryan Jordan), James Gratto (Makayla Stevens), Danielle Patterson, Robert, Tristan and Joseph Walsh. Great grandchildren April (Jory) Currie, Katelynn Hughes, Julia MacDonald, Robin Hughes, Matthew MacDonald, Keith Reine, Katrina & Kassidi Hughes, Carly & Adam Stewart, Great-great grandson Andrew Currie. Brother Doug (Shirley) Davidson and sister Beatrice Busby, sisters-in-law Joyce West, Jean Fraser, Brenda Mugford, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, husband Bob and siblings John (Mary), George “Dubby” (Grace), Charles “Peanut” (Evangline), Robert, Florence, Albert (Ethel) and a baby brother in infancy, brothers-in-law John “Pat” (Henretta) Patterson, Bill West, J.I. “Jim” Fraser, Gary Mugford, John Busby, sister-in-law Mary (George) Tanner.
Mary rested at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. The Crystal Fountain Rebekah Lodge conducted a service at 1:30 Sunday at the Funeral Home. Her funeral service was held 1 o’clock Monday January 1, at Eagles Funeral Chapel, Westville with Rev. Darlene Jewers officiating. Burial wias in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens.
