Allison Robert "Al" Fraser, 89, of South Main Street, Westville, passed away Monday, February 22, 2010 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Westville, August 13, 1920, he was a son of the late Paul Robert and Margaret (Fraser) Fraser. Al was well known for his taxi service, owning and operating in Westville for over 60 years. He received an award from the Town of Westville for being accident free. He was a member of St. Paul United Church, Westville. He will be sadly missed by daughters, Diane Munroe (Rennie); June and Janice, all of Westville; sons, Alan (Joyce), and Bryan (Debbie), also of Westville; grandchildren, Peter (Lisa Kennedy), Hamilton; Paul (Brooke), Dartmouth; Edwin (Krystale), New Glasgow; Lynda, New Glasgow; Nelson (Danielle MacDonald), Stellarton; and Alice, Westville; great-grand daughter Lilly. Al was predeceased by his wife Dorothy (Bryan); daughter, Karen; brothers, Clyde and Clarence. Visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. His funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Paul United Church, Westville with Rev. Doug Pilsworth officiating. Burial will be in the Auburn Cemetery, Westville. A reception will follow in the church hall. Donations in his memory may be made to St. Paul United Church, The N.S. Heart and Stroke Foundation, or the Canadian Cancer Society.
