Obituary of Jim Cormier

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of James Joseph “Jim” Cormier, 76 of Salt Springs on January 5th, 2018. He passed away peacefully at the Aberdeen Hospital with his family by his side. Born in New Glasgow, he was the son of the late Gilbert and Jane (De Gruchy) Cormier. Jim worked as a crane operator and a mill right at Trenton works before settling down in retirement with his wife Paulette of 54 years. Jim had a gentle heart which the community grew to love over the years and was always around to help out a neighbor in need. He took great pride in his property and loved puttering around in his shop ‘over home.’ When he wasn’t in the shop he was busy spending time with family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren who he loved to tease, give life lessons and watch them grow up. Grandchildren Christa (Brody) Rundle, Amanda (Paul) Barnes, Justin (Shawna) Barnes, Devynn (Colton) Cormier, Dennis (Brittany) Cormier, Leo, Paul and Halle Cormier; along with great-grandchildren Bradyn, Camdyn and Kaitlyn Rundle.
