I am very sorry to hear about the loss of your mother. She taught me Home Economics at East Pictou when I was in grades 8 and 9 (1959-1961). She was a wonderful teacher and had an influence on my life ever since. I did not sew until I was in grade 8 and was in her class. Also, she was a leader in the 4 H group when I was in grade 9. There, I learned to crochet and I still have the little doily that she helped me to make. I have been sewing for my family and myself ever since. I also went Acadia and graduated in 1970 with a degree in Home Economics. It was because of the teaching that I received in my Home Ec. classes that gave me that interest in sewing and cooking. I never did see you mother again after she left East Pictou and she never knew what a lasting influence that she had on me.
