Obituary of Aubrey MacKay
Aubrey Clayton "Butch" MacKay, 74 , Mount Thom passed away on Friday, March 12 in the Aberdeen Hospital. Born in Stellarton, he was a son of the late Joseph H. And Hilda (Cyr) MacKay. Butch chose and enjoyed a simple primitive life in place in Mt Thom for the past 60 years. He enjoyed story telling, telling jokes and laughing. In his earlier years. he worked as a coal mine and in the woods. He like riding bikes and motor bikes and was often seen along the side of the highway being referred to as "Bicycle Butch" and "Relic". He is survived by his son Aubrey "Joey" (Crystal) and daughter, Tissie ; several grandchildren and great grand children; brothers, Elwood, Loch Broom; Wilfred "Freddie", Toronto; Roy, Doaktown, N.B.’ Joseph Howe, Inverness; Benvie, Toronto and sister Gladys, Toronto. Visitations will be held on Sunday from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. His funeral service will be held at 11 am Monday from the Church of The Holy Name, Westville with Father Evo Dipierro officiating. Burial in Holy Name Cemetery.
