Obituary of Douglas Rushton

Douglas Weldon Rushton, age 89, Tanner Hill Road, Pictou Co., passed away peacefully on June 19, 2018 at the Aberdeen Hospital.

Born on November 27, 1928, he was a son of the late Joseph and Lily (Doyle) Rushton.

Doug is survived by sons, Gerald (Cynthia) and Gary; daughters, Diane and Darlene (Phillip); former wife Margaret (Wright); grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by daughters, Marilyn Fanjoy; Sheri-Lynn Knoblauch; sisters, Eva Rushton, Helen MacDonald, Edna Miller, Hazel Miller, and Dorothy MacNeil; brothers, Roy, Orland, Lloyd and Harold. Doug was the last surviving member of his family.

Doug’s family would like to thank the staff of the Aberdeen Hospital and Pictou Restorative Care for taking care of our father while he was there.

There will be no visitations. His funeral service will be held 2 o’clock Friday from Eagles Funeral Chapel with Rev. Leon Teal officiating. Burial will be in Gladstone Cemetery. Family flowers only.
