Obituary of Michael S. Smith

With heavy hearts, we say goodbye to our husband, father, brother and Papa, Michael Seldon Smith, age 62, of Westville, on August 18, 2018.

Mike was an adventurous soul who loved the outdoors and travel. He was a trucker for over 40 years with many companies in Pictou County, including Nova Construction and E.R. Langille.

He leaves behind his loving wife Lois; son Colton, Alberta; daughters, Margaret (Bruce), Halifax and Darlene, PEI; grand kids, Chase, Eden, Taylor, and Raven; brothers, Richard (Stacy), John (Nancy), Janet (Erwin), Sherry (Jeff), Cheryl, Bridgewater, Judith (Wayne), Ontario; special friends, Rob, Sid, Frank and Wayne, who took him on many drives; and step-dad Danny, New Germany, step-mom, Carolynn Eichel . and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his sister Shelly, mother, Pearl, and Mom and Pop Grimm.

Mike’s family would especially like to thank the wonderful staff of the Palliative Care and Cancer Program of the Aberdeen Hospital.

There will be no visiting by request. His memorial service will be held 2 o’clock Wednesday from Eagles Funeral Chapel, Westville with Rev. Barry Jack officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Palliative Care Society.
