Obituary of Alice Nelson

Alice Adell Nelson, 86, Mill Brook, Pictou County, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 13, 2018, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.

Born in Westville, Alice was a daughter of the late William and Eliza MacLeod.

In her younger years, Alice taught school. After her marriage to Clarence, she spent the rest of her adult life on the family farm in Mill Brook being well know through out the county for their Christmas Trees. She was also active volunteering in the community, and was a member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, Gairloch, where she had taught Sunday School and was a member of the Ladies Aid. Her interest included crafts, gardening and baking but most of all was enjoying her children and grand children.

She will be sadly missed by sons, Jim (Joan), Sunridge, Rob (Juanita), Lovat; daughter Norma Cameron (Doug), Watervale; grandchildren, Jacob Nelson; Branden and Ryan Nelson; Dustin, Kyle and Emma Cameron; sister-in-law Marjorie MacDonald, Lyons Brook; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband Clarence; sisters Katherine MacLeod and Isabel Black, and brothers John T. and Neil MacLeod.

Visiting for Mrs. Nelson was held on Friday, November 16 with her funeral service being held on Saturday, November 17 from St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Gairloch, with Bonnie Langille officiating. Burial took place Mill Brook Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Mill Brook Cemetery, or a charity of ones’ choice.
