Obituary of Laurren (Fraser) Stoffmehl
Laurren Jean Stoffmehl, age 89 years, Tanner Hill Road, Green Hill, passed away on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in New Glasgow, on February 5, 1929 she was a daughter of the late John A. and Margaret (Watters) Fraser.
At a young age, her family moved from New Glasgow to Green Hill where she grew up. As a young lady she worked for Stanfield’s before moving to Toronto where she worked at Simpson’s until her retirement. While living in Toronto, she met her husband Arnold and upon retirement moved back to her family home in Green Hill. She was a member of Salem Presbyterian Church , the Westville Heritage Club and enjoyed bowling as well.
Laurren is survived by sister-in-law Dorothy Fraser, Green Hill and 14 nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by husband Arnold after 44 years of marriage; sisters, Isabel Wright, Doris Logan, Ruth Fraser, Elizabeth MacLaughlin and brothers Cecil and Earl Fraser.
Laurren rested at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville with visiting on Thursday, January 17 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Her funeral service was held 2 o’clock Friday, January 18 from Salem Presbyterian Church, Green Hill with Rev. Mary Ann Grant officiating. Spring burial will be in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens. Donations in her memory may be made to Salem Presbyterian Church.
