Obituary of Betty MacLeod

It is with broken hearts that we announce that Elizabeth " Betty" MacLeod (Jeans), 89, from Westville, formally of Eureka passed away on Thursday, January 24th, 2019 in Glen Haven Manor, with her family by her side.

Betty was born on March 20, 1929 to Bazil and Alice(Haggart) Jeans

She was a loving and thoughtful lady who was always thinking of others; a kind and gentle soul. Her biggest joy and love in life was her family. She loved to read, always having a book on the go. She enjoyed Bingo, game shows, her favourite soap opera’s and of course, Elvis; she was his #1 fan. She had a love for animals, especially her two cats, Holly and Mittens. Betty was a member of the Royal True Blue Association, Princess May Lodge. Betty was a faithful member of St. Paul United Church, Westville.

She will be deeply missed by her loving children, whom were always close to her heart; son, Charles "Barry" Brown (Sandra), BC; daughters; Cathy MacLeod and Karen Deagle (Mike), Westville. She was so proud and loved her grandchildren; Ryan, Karley, and Chelsea Deagle and Matthew Brown. Betty’s little treasurers (great grandchildren); Mylie, Connor, Cali, Jax and Brady.

Betty is also survived by her brother, Everett Jeans (Marjorie), New Glasgow; sisters Nancy Osborne, Seattle; Shirley Morgan, Halifax; Sharon Crawford (Ron), Sydney Mines and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her former husband, John "Insoles" MacLeod.

Special thanks to the staff of Glen Haven Manor for their amazing, compassionate care and also our thanks to the Palliative Care Team and doctors.

Betty is resting at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville, with visiting on Friday (today) from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Her funeral service will be held at 1 o’clock Saturday from St. Paul Untied Church, Westville, with the Rev. Dr. Mary Taylor officiating. If so desired, memorial donations may be made to the Aberdeen Palliative Care Unit, the SPCA or a charity of one’s choice
