Obituary of Annie Lees

Annie Mae Lees, age 102, Porters Lane, Westville passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 4, 2010 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Westville, she was a daughter of the late James Duncan and Florence (MacAulay) MacDonald. Mrs. Lees was a member of St. Paul United Church, Westville. Prior to moving to Westville, she and her husband operated a family farm in Rocklin for many years. Annie was a gentle soul with a positive outlook on life. Her family and good friends were her secret to living so long. Annie took pleasure and was very proud of her independence and the fact she was able to stay in her own home until the time of her death. She is survived by her son Robert (Blanch), Westville; grand children: Douglas (Mary) and John (Arlene); Wayne MacKay; Gina, Cindy, Sherry, Laurie, Bobby and David, son in law Doug Weagle Mrs.Lees was predeceased by her husband Thomas Joseph Lees; daughter Mildred Weagle; son Thomas "Tommy"; sisters, Florence Saunders and Marion; and brothers, Almore, Warren, Lawrence and Embert MacDonald. Visitations will be held on Friday from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. Her funeral service will be held 2:30 Saturday from Eagles Funeral Chapel, Westville with Rev. Doug Pilsworth officiating. Burial will be in Birch Hill Cemetery, Rocklin. Donations in her memory may be made to the Birch Hill Cemetery
