A Celebration of Sonny's life will take place on Sunday, June 30, from 2-5pm at the Elk's Lodge, New Glasgow.

Obituary of Fred Taylor

Fred "Sonny" Taylor, 81, of Springville and Westville, passed away on June 22, 2019 in the Aberdeen Hospital, surrounded by his family.

Born in Inverness, he was a son of the late Fred and Rose (Glawson) Taylor.

He was an avid volunteer with the Weeks Crushers for many years and a fan of the Boston Bruins and the New York Yankees. He was a life time member of the Elks Lodge and a member of the Bombers Club. He was a welder by trade and worked construction in his early years and retired after a long career with Scott Paper Ltd. Sonny was full of life and laughter. He enjoyed his many friends and loved his family dearly.

He will be dearly missed by his wife Trudy; daughter Rose Anne (Bernie) MacIsaac; son Scott Taylor; grandchildren Jill (Justin), Jeff (Katie), Meghan (Storm) and Chelsie; great-grandchildren, Londyn, Easton, Paiten, Nathan, and Kenzie; brother Earl (Pearl); chosen brother, Monty MacDougall; sisters Audrey and Shirley MacLellan (John); numerous special nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by brother Jimmy, Charlie, Wallace, Hughie, and sisters Lillian, Irene, and Grace; and mother-in-law Shirley MacEwan.

Special thanks to the Palliative Care Unit, Aberdeen Hospital, Dr. Brad MacDougall, special V.O.N. nurse Susan, and special friend Larry Hay, who visited every day. Many thanks to E.H.S. Paramedics who came to know Fred and Trudy well and the Westville Fire Dept.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. There will be no visitation or funeral service by request. A Celebration of Life will take place at the Elks Lodge, New Glasgow Sunday, June 30 from 2-5 pm. Memorial donations may be made to the Palliative Care Unit of the Aberdeen Hospital, the S.P.C.A., or a charity of your choice.
