So sorry to hear of Lottie's passing. Our sincere condolences to her family. Lottie was a big help to a number of us. As new Federal Returning Officers with an election coming up Lottie's calm and humourus guidance was just what we needed to relieve the stress and deliver a successful election. Lottie will be greatly missed.

To Agnes Leadbeater:
Dear Agnes:Evelyn and I were saddened to learn of Lottie's sudden passing, which was a shock to the community.Lottie was a loyal and hard worker for the town and All Pictou Co. in all the activities in which she was involved, and there were many. She touched a lot of lives And will be long remembered for her giving and kindness. As a fellow member of the piping and pipe band community her heart and soul was very much part of that scene,as you well know for years of her dedication to the Dunvegan and others.
She leaves an indelible mark on the community and will be missed dearly.
Please pass on my sympathy and condolences to all her family.
A 'Flowers of the Forrest' lament goes out in her memory.
Sincerely,
JackMacIsaac

Mary K. and I are saddened by Lottie's passing. She will be missed and long remembered by the many people who cherished her. Lottie was a member of the 1965 Grade 12 Graduating Class of Westville High School and helped to organize class reunions every 5 years. I had the honour of being Class President and Lottie and I worked together to round up the over two dozen members who were spread out through various parts of Nova Scotia and other parts of Canada. As the late teacher Tony MacKenzie said "I never saw a class quite like that" and Lottie was an integral part and bond. RIP friend and classmate.

Family & friends~~~Lottie certainly loved Westville, my kids worked with her back in the day @Westville Rec and always came Home with a funny story, Lottie loved to have fun & could always create laughter; just a few weeks ago I was @an appt. in Truro & striking up a conversation with the lady next to me, she said I don’t know many people in Pic.Co but I know Lottie Stewart, her exact words were “Lottie is one of the funniest & friendliest of people I’ve ever met”, very familiar words likely used to describe Lottie, so very saddened by her loss, sincere condolences from the Perrin’s.

I met Lottie in 2014 when I started to work for Elections Canada. We developed a good working relationship and became friends. I will dearly miss Lottie's stories and laughter. She was passionate about her role as a Returning Officer and wrote about it in our Elections Canada newsletter in June 2018:
Lottie Stewart, Returning Officer, Central Nova
As long as I can remember, elections have played a big role in my life: encouragement from my parents with great suppertime conversation, high school civic classes and helping a political party draw signs. My interest was keen. I remember being so happy when I finally turned 21 and could vote. Throughout the years I have been a poll worker, worked as an assistant returning officer and, presently, the Returning Officer of Central Nova for the past five general elections. Helping people vote is very rewarding for me. Thanks to Nellie McClung and Agnes MacPhail and others who fought so all women could be included in the electoral process.
