We were so sorry to hear of Jerry's passing. Herb worked with Jerry back in the CNR days and they had a lot of great times together. We bumped into Jerry a few times over the last few years (usually at Canadian Tire) and they always found something to talk and laugh about. Jerry seemed to always have something nice to say and had a great sense of humour. When I see the two pictures you have here, I see the young Jerry of when Herb first met him (well, a bit older) and then the older Jerry we'd run into from time to time. What a great smile he had! It's so strange as for some reason last week I mentioned Jerry to Herb, asking if he had seen him around lately.....and then saw his obituary. He certainly left a great lasting impression and won't be forgotten. We send hugs and sincere sympathy to his loved ones.

Beloved sister Marion and family. Our love and prayers to each of you during these difficult days. We prayerfully commit you into the loving care of our Heavenly Father who is able to sustain you during times like this .. We both remember Jerry as a “ man on the move “ .. the army contributed to it in part by the many postings he and you as a Family had.. Slowing up these last few years must have been hard for him to take. We recall him polishing his truck when it looked perfect and shiny to us , His response was a smile and he continued to work on the truck .. Probably, These personal traits of perfection in doing his work were engrained into his personal life during his time in the military . Whatever the reason ,, we admired him for them ! Today We only wish we could physically stand beside And give hugs to each of you during these days , but that’s impossible.. Know this , we love you lots !! JJean and Derrick

Dave, Jenny, and Families, I saw this with sadness (and Dave, there are no milkman stories in your family!) - I would see Jerry from time to time in Sobeys and he always would chat for a few moments and bring me up to date with obvious pride, and justly so. Mind like a steel trap! Peace.

Grandpa Best was a kind grandfather. We will remember him as a strong man who liked to go bowling with us, would sometimes tickle us and was always smiling and joked with us. We will miss him. Matthew and Abigail Best
