I had the privilege to work with Lonie n provincial matters in solid waste. He was a true gentleman. Soft spoken even at the most intense parts of any agenda...but was heard, and listened to with much respect. We missed him when he retired. Condolences to his family and friends....he is dancing with the angels now

Lonie was a great friend and mentor during much of my working career, and his commitment and dedication to the environment was the inspiration that led to my personal mid life career re- direction. He will be missed and fondly remembered by all who were influenced by his knowledge, talents and friendship. Sincere condolences to all the family in this time of sorrow.

My thoughts go out to the family at this time of sadness.
My memories of Lonie are of happier times when we worked together on solid waste issues at the landfill site and on the Executive of Atlantic Canada SWANA. Lonie was always willing to share his knowledge and regardless of the circumstances find some good and most times humour in what was happening on any given day.

To Lonie's family
I had the privilege of knowing Lonie during his working career. Working as the solid waste representative for the Province I tended to lean on Lonie for inspiration and support as we developed the new waste management system for the province.,
I will always remember his special friendship .
My prayers go out to the family at this difficult time .

I had the privilege of having Lonie as my Clerk of Session for a little over 3 years! He was my right hand man who guided me through my time at St. Andrew’s. I enjoyed having him sit beside during our meetings because I knew he would have everything in order! But more importantly he was a soft spoken kind man who worked hard for his church and his family! My thoughts and prayers are with all his family especially Joan and his grandchildren that I got to meet on several occasions! Well done thou good and faithful servant!

My thoughts are with all of you during this difficult time. Pop was always ready with a funny story to tell and was a great father-in-law. We will miss you, Pop. Hugs to you all.
