I was really sorry to hear Nan passed. I met Nan and Edgar when I worked at Dr ERIC BEATON and Dr SUE LEWIS. She was a lovely lady and always a pleasure to see Nan come in for her ( Edgar) dental appointments.
Please accept my Sincere Condolences to all her friends and family.
She will be missed by all.

The Cameron Family from Eureka wish to pass on our sincere condolences. Our mom Della Cameron and Nan were the best of friends. We're sure mom is welcoming her with open arms. Nan had a great memory, when we all visited her for one of her later birthdays she delighted in telling us stories of their younger years. Like how they would cross the ice in Pictou Harbour to go to school at Pictou Academy and going to the dances in Sunny Brae and leaving mom to find her own way home. She was a great lady who touched the lives of many people. Rest in peace Nan.

Dear Family and Friends of Nan MacKean;
Sending my condolences. Nan was my neighbour on Highland Drive for many years. She and Edgar were the most wonderful neighbours. I remember a particular visit I had with Nan showing her how to take a selfie picture with my cell phone and she got such a great kick out of that and was truly amazed. She was a true lady and I will miss her story telling of her wonderful memories!
Love,
Kathy O’Brien

I remember Nan from my childhood when she and Edgar had their business on High Street in Trenton. She looked after the store and I would see her almost daily.. I was living in the Ottawa region when I saw Edgar's obituary in the NG NEWS. Nan's pastor came across it and gave Nan a copy. She was quite moved by my recollections of Edgar. She did not know how to get in touch with me. She asked a Trenton born gentleman, Doug Cormier if he knew me and through him was able to get my address in Winchester, Ont. She wrote me and told me how pleased she was to read my memories of her beloved Husband. I was very touched to learn how pleased she was with my comments. I promised her I would visit on my next trip to the county. when I moved back to the county, I did contact her by phone and made arrangements to visit with her at her home. We had great pleasure swapping memories. I visited her on a few occasions after that and could see she was getting quite frail, to the point where I could tell she was fading. The last time I visited, she was being cared for by a home care worker. I learned shortly after that she was residing at the Villa in Riverton. I thought she was going downhill and never was able to get over for a visit. Sadly, my wife and I were talking about this strong loving woman on April 1, and then I read her obituary 2 days later. I am saddened deeply at her passing. However, I believe she would have been happy to know she would be again reunited with Edgar. She was an amazingly strong and devoted Christian lady, to whom the pearly gates would have been opened wide.
I extend my sincere condolences to the family members she left behind. May God strengthen and bless you all .
Sincerely,
Dennis & Marguerite Ryan

I met Nan many years ago when I worked at the Pictou Hospital. She was always smiling and loved to share stories. I thought of her often and will always remember her kindness. When I asked what her secret to a long life was she said " to smile, be happy and dance". Rest easy dear Nan.
