It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Andrew William “Billy” Burt, formerly of Westville and Eden Lake, NS. on the 23rd September, 2020 at Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow, NS. Billy was born on 30th December, 1936 to Isabel (Brown) and Joseph Burt. Billy proudly served in the RCAF, was employed by Sobeys, MacDougall Construction, the Pictou Shipyard, and Scott Maritimes. Billy was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Westville. He enjoyed playing hockey and baseball with the Westville Oldtimers. He loved his camping and fishing trips with his family and friends. Billy was the life of the party wherever he went. He will be dearly missed by his wife Frances (Crockett) and Bindi, Sherry (Gary) Wadden, Joanie (Don Cable), Andy (Terry), Anita (Jerry) McKinnon, and Joe (Merridy), 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Sharon (Vic) Forward, New Glasgow, NS, many nieces and nephews and his dearest lifelong friends. He was pre-deceased by his mother and father, and his brother Adam. Our family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to Billy’s extended family at Glen Haven Manor. He always saved his special smile for his “girls”, his wonderful care givers at Glen Haven. Thank you for your kindness and compassion. There will be no visitations. A private family funeral service will be held at Eagles Funeral Chapel, Westville. Donations to the SPCA in Billy’s memory would be greatly appreciated. www.eaglesfuneralhome.ca
