We were so sorry to hear about Sid . We have so many great memories of the times spent in his hilarious company. Our family would officially start the excitement of the Christmas season with a Christmas Eve visit from Sid Santa and his helper Ritchie. It was always lots of fun for all of us .The funniest part would be when they had to go downstairs to check out the chimney. Also many wonderful memories of the hockey trips . He has left a lasting legacy with his family and friends all through the years . We send our love and hugs to all his family .

Dear Scott,Frank,Bruce,Wendy,Tim, brother Jim,sidekick and constant companion Linda and the many others in the 'Hale'storm,Notablly his late wife Sylvia whom he loved and enjoyed so much...he was a 'fixture' in the town of Westville's and beyond and touched the lives of many, including ourselves in many and enjoyable ways, some even hilarious!Dont think I ever saw him mad...always a great sense ,of humour and witty to a fault with everyone..king and commoner alike he was always the same. Our friendship goes back to 1960 when I landed in Pic.co.as a CB refugee, and he 'recruited' me into the 'Star Studded'(no pun intended) hockey 'stars '
On the J.J.Grant Lumber'kings' who burnt up the ice lanes in the old Industrial League,The Team being owned by NS future Lt.Gov.J.J.Grant which we always felt was Elevated to His Prestigious Position because of his introduction to
'public Life' as General Manager and Owner of this 'crack' team who brought fame and recognition to the Area...at least that's what Sid always told me!
Westville will never be the same without him but his legacy will live on with the many great stories, some in song like the Deer Camp 'Sonata' and the Billy and Sid Performances at many different venues where they knocked their audiences ,off their seats with laughter and goodnatured humor and fun..his generous donation of his time to bring joy to young people(no surprise there,he was always young at heart') as Westville's Own Jolly Santa Claus..Whata guy he was and we we feel proud and priveleged to be part of the 'Hale Storm' on many occasions over 60yrs.Memories that will be cherished and live on by retelling so many stories where he was 'centre Stage'!You will be missed and well remembered.
Sincerely,
Jack and Evelyn Mac Isaac

My deepest sympathies on the passing of Sid. I remember answering a knock on the door one Christmas Eve as a child. I opened the door and was so surprised to see Santa standing there that i slammed the door in his face. I was asked who was at the door and i whispered Santa. I was so in shock that someone else went to let him in. Thank you Sid for a memory i will always cherish.

Our sincere condolences to the Hale family and Linda.
So many fishing trips, so many weekends at Malcies camp. Countless stories, a mixture of fact with a bit of fiction for entertainment value. He was somewhat of a Westville historian on people and events. I often called him for information. And who can forget the many old timers hockey tournaments around the maritimes, they were always memorable events. Rest In Peace Sidney.
