Dear Ferne, Stewart, Brenda, Trueman and Darrin,
A time of loss seems to be a time filled with memories. When I think of your mother,I remember her warm welcoming smile and her caring manner. I think she must have been the community health expert. I recall on one occasion when I was very sick, she came to our home to check on me and offer advice. Both her obituary and the picture presentation are a special tribute to her
Love and Blessings to you and your families,
Isabel (MacLean) langille

I don’t know where to begin, but I do know that I have many fond memories of the unconditional kindness and love that Pat showed our family, who lived on the neighbouring farm. I almost believe that the Wilson’s and the Balfour’s put Rocklin on the map! My sisters and I spent many hours enjoying their farm and generosity. One personal memory that highlights Pat’s talent and kindness is the Hallowe’en she turned me into an angel by making me a white satin dress with matching wings. The fact that she had at least four other kids to dress did not deter her for a moment. She always found time to give each one of us special attention. I was also inspired by her nursing expertise which she generously shared with our family on more than one occasion. My sincere sympathy goes to the family with special attention to Ferne, Stewart, Brenda and Truman.

I think Pat would like to have a tree planted in her memory. I hope it will spread as much shelter as she did kindness. Love to you all, Joyce Balfour

I was saddened to learn of Pat's death. She was a dear friend and neighbour to the Balfours and to her entire community. The beautiful photo which accompanied her obituary brought back fond memories of her unending kindness, her musical laughter and her delicious head-cheese.
Her photo also reminded me of the strong bond which she and Sammy had with my parents, and of the wonderful times my sisters and I enjoyed with Ferne, Stewart, Brenda and Truman during our days in the one-room schoolhouse in New Lairg.
My sincere sympathy to you all,
Joyce Balfour

I was sad to hear about Pat’s death. She was an interesting, lively person who made life in Rocklin an better place. Often during many winter storms, the Balfour family would park at the end of Wilson’s driveway when our hill was filled with snow. We could drop into the house or barn at any time and were always welcome. Pat could see the bright side of things and enjoy life’s simple pleasures. She will be missed.
Our condolences are with the family at this time.
Blessings to all of you,
Nelda
