I loved Candy. She was indeed like a big happy hug. My times in her house were always accompanied with a home baked treat. Hearing here singing while she worked away always made me smile. I am so sad to hear of your your enormous loss Tom , Robert and Robin. Growing up next door to your Mom was a gift.

We first met Candy at Performance Macs, She was such a friendly and funny lady (just a joy to talk to). After Performance Macs shut down we would run into Candy on our walks. She would always have time to talk and would always make us laugh. A truly beautiful lady, inside and out. Heartfelt condolences to her family & friends. Heaven has gained a beautiful angel

We remember with fondness Candy as a very supportive parent at Westville High School. During our residence at 460 Terrace Street in New Glasgow, we had many chats with Candy; she was an amazing woman. We were blessed to have taught her children with their varied gifts! George & Pauline Henaut

Tom,Robin,Robert and families, so sorry to hear about the loss of your mother. We loved running into her and the great conversations that were had. John always bragged about her chocolate cake she made and every time I made one he would say it wasn’t as good as “Tommy’s mother”. When I told Candy what John said she would tell me her cake was nothing special. She also mentioned that John as a teenager would check to see if there was a chocolate cake on the counter. Such a wonderful lady who had lots to brag about but never did. Thinking about you in this time of great sorrow.

Tom, Robin & Robert & family. We would often bump into your mom at Performance Macs & the adult skates, as well as walking the trails & we would reminisce about the antics of life in the ‘ ‘Rifle Range’; one particular memory for me involves a toy plastic fishing rod! Candy was a very special, one of a kind lady who will be missed by the many lives she’s touched. May your memories bring comfort during this time of grief. Sincere condolences to you all. ~Jennifer (Oliver) & Mike Haas

Candy was a wonderful lady always had time to talk a catch up about all people from the Rifle Range. There are very few like her left. Always full of fun and laughter. She will be dearly missed. You should be so proud to be her family.

I would head to Trenton park in the early mornings hoping to run into Candy and so enjoyed our talks when I often did. We sometimes spent too much time talking amongst the trees while she told me about her life and asked about mine. What a breath of fresh air this lovely lady was and she will be so very missed by me. How sad it was when I didn't see her in the woods anymore and she told me she had been ill. I will always remember you, Candy, in the park, in the trees, appreciating nature and people and enjoying a laugh and always with a big hug! May you be at rest my woods friend. Jane Fraser

So sorry to hear of Candy’s passing. I was a walking buddy of hers on the Sampson trail, we walked and chatted most everyday for quite sometime. I loved her words of wisdom and her wonderful energy! She always had a smile on her face and a positive attitude. She never let you forget that hug! Such a sweet lady, she will surely be missed by many. RIP sweet candy. Thinking of you all.

I met Candy many times in Trenton Park, as she hiked the back trails using a fallen tree branch for a walking stick. She always had a smile and time for a chat. She was definitely an inspiration!
Please accept my sympathies.

I was so inspired by Candy's energy and love for life and of the fun she had. I helped run the last seniors festival in Trenton a few years ago and I can remember asking Candy to dance as the music began to play first thing in the morning. Well throughout our dance, a two-step, she talked with ease. I responded, conversing, but struggled for breath throughout. She really showed me, in my fifties, what it was like to be physically fit in her nineties at that. Always ready for a good time with friends. She will be very missed.

Mary K. and I are saddened to hear of Vesta’s (Candy’s) passing and we extend sincere sympathy to all family members at this difficult time. She was an amazing person who loved life to the fullest. Candy was the only person I have known who was ready for a polka to the music over the speaker at Foodland, even in recent years. I will miss Tom bringing us up to date on her health and her many adventures. Personally, Candy was an inspiration to me, and to many other aging people, to stay young at heart despite the passing years. REST IN PEACE my friend.

From son Robert... Mom, I never knew all of this fascinating singing backstory.... I was likely there for some of it in my tender years, but was never aware. Anyway, mom, you're home at last... You can stop exercising now! Rest peacefully

Hike Upon the Clouds
Your car hasn’t been in the parking lot for months
And your footprints have not touched the soil
Yet you remain rooted while you fly
In our hearts while you hike upon the clouds.
Creating your own trails, meeting new friends
Leaving family to gather, remember and rejoice.
Your sweetness was blessed with harsh truth
A soul that will live on long after your body
Now you’re meeting your higher friends, blessing them with your self
Each one you met will remember your gifts,
Your stamina, your wonder and grit.
Walk forever upon the clouds, always trusting you’ve been found
Release the pain, live well again and trust in God we’re bound.
Thanks for the memories and hard truths, Candy! You'll be missed but you're with your Lord now, always where you need to be. :)

To Candy’s family, we extend our sincere condolences to each of you, we saw the ambulance arriving up the street that evening last week & we were concerned, we are very saddened to learn of Candy’s passing, She was a very happy, kind and pleasant neighbour, it was always a pleasure to chat with her over the years. Many times we’d see her walking & sometimes offer her a lift, her response was always “these legs were made for walking & smile”, she told me one time during a chat when I mentioned joining a gym for exercise, she said, “just use those two legs God gave you, you don’t need no gym my dear”, the fittest lady I knew “Candy Clark”, Rest In Peace dear neighbour, you were an inspiration.
