Her funeral service will be held 2 o’clock Sunday from Eagles Funeral Chapel with Fred Jeffery officiating.

Obituary of Kay MacKenzie

It is with sadness we announce the death of our mother, Catherine “Kay” Louise MacKenzie, 82 on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 in Dartmouth General Hospital.

Born in New Glasgow on February 12, 1940, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Gertrude (Little) Miller.

Kay resided in Westville for most of her life until moving to live with her son in Dartmouth 7 years ago.  She was a member of the Salvation Army Corp., the Home League, the Salvation Army League of Mercy, and was a Scout Leader at the 3rd Westville Scout Troop.  She was a member of the Ladies Aux. of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. #95 Bedford and a former member of Br.#35 Westville.  

A loving mother and grandmother she will be dearly missed by daughters, Velvet (Dale), Bothwell, Ont.; Helen, Winnipeg; sons, Kenny (Mary), Canning; Keith (Karen), Arizona; and Kirk, Dartmouth; daughter in law Elda, Westville; chosen daughter Bonnie Bryant, Winnipeg; grandchildren, Sarah and Milo; Christopher and Matthew; Amanda and Matt; Christina, Isabella, Jane, and Alex; great-grandchildren, Hailey, Raven, Sam, Atticus, Amelia, Elliot, Gideon, and Malcolm.

She was predeceased by her husband Lloyd; son Ross; daughter-in-law Susan; sister Doris “Dot” Little; brothers Jim, Harold, Butch and John Miller.
