Obituary of Michael Walsh
It is with our deepest regret we announce the passing of our father, son, brother William Michael Walsh of Westville, age 59
Born in Truro NS, Dec 14, 1963. Michael was a son of the Margaret ( Everil) Patton late Michael Bernard Walsh.
Michael is survived by his son Kyle Walsh, his daughter Carmen Walsh of Westville; brothers Paul (Nancy) Walsh, Malagash , Trevor (Kate) Walsh, Truro; sisters Tanya (Gerry) Walsh, Fall River, Vera (Corry) Walsh-Day, Thailand. Also survived by the mother of his children, Nancy Cyr-Walsh, Westville, mother-in-law, Bernice Cyr, Westville and many uncles, aunts, cousins,nieces and nephews.
Michael has spent the last 12 years working in Western Canada for Graham Construction, and Ledcor. Both companies had a high regard for Mikes abilities as Superintendent on road construction across Canada. Projects he led were Regina Bypass, Calgary Ring Rd, Kitimat Heavy Haul Rd, Alamos Gold Haul Rd to name a few. Mike returned home to Pictou County, February 2023 due to illness
Michael loved going off the grid on his time home at his "camp" in Ohio, Antigonish, where he often spent time with Kyle, brothers, and many friends, who all shared their love of hunting, fishing and sharing stories of the " Good Ol' Days"
Michael cherished the last 3 years his little princess, Carmen joined him out west, making lasting memories, he was so proud of his children and would lay down his life for them both.
You were taken from us too soon. Our lives with be forever changed. You were the true meaning of what matters most , FAMILY
Our family would like to give a special mention to Mikes friends, Rick Foote, Westville, James Gerrior, Arichat and Scott Stuart, Scotsburn. You all showed our family the true meaning of friendship, thank you from the bottom of our hearts
Michael is predeceased by his father, Michael Bernard Walsh, paternal grandparents, Jack and Vera Walsh, maternal grandparents Joe and Mae MacDonald , step grandmother, Rosanne Walsh, father-in-law, Richard Cyr, uncles, Archie Walsh, Stewart Mossop, Junior MacQueen, Dennis Flawn, Jim Hermanson, Al Boswell, Roy Baigent, JD MacDonald, aunt Rosie Walsh, cousin Evan MacDonald.
His family received visitors on Sunday, Sept 3 from 6-9 pm. His funeral service was held at 11 am Monday, Sept 4 from the Church of The Church of Holy Name, Westville . Interment was in the Holy Name Cemetery.
